
Civil War Group Buys Franklin Battlefield Property

FRANKLIN — A preservation organization has acquired a piece of property significant to the Battle of Franklin across the street from the Carter House.
Franklin’s Charge will make the announcement at 10 a.m. Thursday on the property at 1219 Columbia Ave., next to the Domino’s Pizza.
Tennessee Historical Commission executive director Patrick McIntyre, Franklin’s Charge president Ernie Bacon, author Robert Hicks and Eric Jacobson, an author and historian, will be there along with several Civil War re-enactors.
