An election that has proven not to be a very bright time for conservative grassroots voters, Blackburn WAS and IS the shining light on the hill, beaconing the conservative ships to her harbor.
If anyone can energize Tennessee conservative Republicans to turnout for a not-so enticing GOP Presidential nominee, Marsha can, as she displayed her cheer leading ability to those gathered last night.
With her family proudly displayed on the podium, Blackburn has shown that she has weathered the criticism by her opponent and the local paper (and even a needling from me) quite handily.

U.S. Rep. Marsha Blackburn easily defeated her Republican challenger, Tom Leatherwood, in Thursday's primary, making use of a large campaign war chest and overcoming criticism of her fundraising practices.
Blackburn, a three-term Republican from Brentwood, beat Leatherwood by a wide margin for the GOP nomination in the heavily Republican 7th District, which snakes from Shelby County in western Tennessee to Williamson County and north to parts of Montgomery County.
"Tonight was a big win for us," she said. "We ran a 15-county strategy, we did well across the entire district, we have solid support across the entire district, and we're going to continue to work hard to earn that vote."
