Girl's Night Out to Teaching the Pig to Dance

What started out as a girl's night out; ended up being a night of "Teaching the Pig to Dance"

Kimberly was taking a close friend out for a belated birthday celebration at Cheesecake Factory. Not wanting to wait an hour and half, Mary Lee and my better half decided to go across the way to Davis Kidd and meander down to their hidden restaurant on the lower floor, Bronte Bistro.

Well you can surely guess what event must have been happening in the bookstore at the same time.....a Freddie T book signing.

Being a sweetie, she not only bought me a book she got it it signed by the Law and Order man himself.

Former Senator Fred Thompson signs

And as you can see, a little picture taken by ML of KMB and FT after his John Hancock was given.......Jeri T. better watch her back!

Opponents to the Brentwood Mosque.....Will the Tennessean use their Template?

I just got off the phone with Tennessean's Writer Reporter Bob Smietana.

I must say I debated on whether I should talk with him, as one doesn't have to be much of a clairvoyant to anticipate the "bigoted against Muslims hook-line" that the Tennessean Template must fill and print.

I tried to emphasize the need for the local City Commission to restrict their decision making process to the nuts and bolts of the Zoning / Building minutia.

I also stressed the need to have the broader discussion on the influence that Islam has had in nations in which they control the government.....Not very tolerant to say the very least. Sharia law is not so slowly affecting the civil laws from Paris to Detroit.

As noted Middle Eastern expert Bernard Lewis writes about the tendency of Islamic tolerance,
"One man, one vote, once"
Once the adherents of Islam become the majority of any nation, the last free election will be the one that gave them control. men only rule, and there is no chance of fair elections again. The Islamic adherents within our nation surely do not want this, but do they ever condemn their adherents in Pakistan, Egypt, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, etc for their intolerance? Can new Christian churches be built? Crosses displayed? Bibles passed out?

Is the goal of a growing Islamic influence in America a different one?
Then let's discuss....

This discussion needs to be had in a candid and civil matter.

I stressed these two points in our phone conversation, what Bob Smietana will print?

We shall see.....

Muslim families withdraw request to build Brentwood
mosque

By Bonnie Burch • The Tennessean • May 20,
2010

BRENTWOOD — A request to rezone land on Wilson
Pike to build a mosque was withdrawn by the
applicant this morning, according to Brentwood
Planning and Codes Director Jeff Dobson.

In a letter addressed to the city, Mohammad Fazili of
the Islamic Center of Williamson County said the
decision was made “with regret and a heavy heart.”

The proposal to build a 12,000-square-foot domed
mosque on 14 acres off Wilson Pike just south of
the Twin Springs subdivision made it through a first
reading and a planning commission
recommendation before it was withdrawn.

But the rezoning request had faced opposition from
residents who cited traffic, environmental and
flooding issues among their concerns.

Initially, a final reading with the City Commission
was planned for Monday. But that now will likely
move off the agenda.

Friends, Will, Bryan, Brad and Nathan mug for the camera.

Mom and Son share a moment before heading out to the Graduation morn...

Kimberly, Bryan and Caroline after the big event......

On Friday's Baccalaureate Ceremony, a Lipscomb staffer lines up the young men exhorting,

"Straighten up President Randy Lowry has adjusted his schedule and will attend today"

Bryan's response..."So what, he should after all he is the President of the school"

Each basically said the same thing, but it should be noted that the tone and attitudes were much different. (-:

A #72 table spread for Bryan's Graduation Party last Saturday.

Brentwood's Proposed Moslem Mosque....Feedback Part V

From: caroline williams

I think the Mosque will be terrible for the Brentwood Community. It would worsen the flood issue in Twin Springs, create traffic problems, and destroy natural habitats in Brentwood.
